Domestic violence refers to behaviors used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. Anyone can be a victim of domestic violence at any point in their life. Domestic violence can take many forms: economic, emotional, physical and sexual. There are agencies that can help find emergency shelter and develop a safety plan.
